Examining Drug Use and Misuse in India, and Evaluating Drug Control Laws

Drug and substance abuse is a serious and multifaceted issue that has an impact on people all over the world, families, and communities. Governments across the globe have put laws and policies in place to combat substance addiction and regulate drug use. This study explores the complex web of drug usage in India, highlighting the multifaceted character of the problem. The goal of this research is to obtain a thorough understanding of drugs and substance abuse, taking into account the current legislative framework, regulatory bodies, and international and national policies. To do this, a doctrinal method was used to perform a comprehensive analysis of key legal sources, including laws, conventions, treaties, and policies, along with the use of a qualitative approach. The results of this study offer a basis for well-informed decision-making in the formulation of policy and the implementation of enforcement tactics, as well as a greater comprehension of the intricacies underlying drug usage.
