This paper has focused on the Information needs and seeking behaviour of the P.G students from the faculty of arts at the University of Burdwan. Information-seeking behaviour is the application of attributes through a set of actions in order to achieve desired information-seeking. Information-seeking behaviour also refers to using people to search for and utilise Information. In this research study, we have taken the main of P.G students arts faculty at the University of Burdwan. At present, people are interested in searching for Information in the ICT environment.IT environment access to any information and resources people have to familiar with ICT devices, tools, techniques, software internet search etc. We designed a questionnaire through Google and allowed 500 P.G students to collect data regarding Information-seeking behaviour related to the ICT environment. We collected the questions and assigned them to defined parameters for making a dataset. The study aims to find “Familiar and Non-familiar” students in an ICT environment and predict familiar and non-familiar students using a machine learning model. We also evaluated the machine learning model with a classification report and confusion matrix. As a result, we found 323 Familiar and 177 Non-familiar. The prediction from the machine learning model is 92% accurate in this research.
