A Review Regarding the Chemical Components and Medicinal Properties of Guduchi.

Originating from hot regions of the Indian subcontinent, Guduchi, also known as Tinospora cordi folia, is a herb of the Menispermaceae family with heart-shaped leaves. It is suggested to be helpful in treating a variety of illness, including jaundice,gout, skin conditions, like fevers in our traditional Ayurvedic scriptures. Additionally, Guduchi asserted that it was an adaptogenic agent, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, athrombolytic, anti-diarrheal, anti-ulcer, antimicrobial,anti-cancer, hepatoprotective, cardiovascular protective, neuroprotective, osteoprotective, radioprotective, anti-anxiety, and anti-oxidant. Traditional medicine has remained as the most affordable and easily accessible source of treatment in the primary healthcare system of resource poor communities in India. Tinospora cordifolia is a widely used shrub in folk and Ayurvedic systems of medicine all over India. Though almost all of its parts are used in traditional systems of medicines, leaves stem and roots are the most important parts which are used medicinally. It has a wide variety of compounds that have an impact on the body. The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of the knowledge regarding the chemical components and therapeutic uses of the Tinospora cordifolia plant.
