Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between strategic Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices, environmental performance, and employee commitment across multiple industries in the Indian manufacturing sector. Using a mixed-method approach combining qualitative expert consultations and quantitative surveys from 217 organizations, the research demonstrates that comprehensive implementation of GHRM practices significantly enhances both environmental performance metrics and employee commitment levels. Structural equation modeling revealed that green recruitment, environmental training, green performance management, and eco-friendly reward systems have the strongest influence on organizational outcomes. Additionally, organizational culture was identified as a critical mediating factor in the GHRM-performance relationship. These findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on sustainable human resource practices in emerging economies and provide practical implications for manufacturing organizations seeking to improve their triple bottom line through strategic GHRM initiatives.
