Abstract

Anemia remains a pervasive public health issue in India, particularly in urban agglomerations like Delhi NCR. This paper presents a non-experimental assessment of anemia prevalence, trends, and policy responses in the region, using secondary data from government health surveys and non-governmental organization (NGO) reports. Drawing from National Family Health Survey (NFHS), District Level Household and Facility Survey (DLHS), and published NGO screening campaigns, the study examines demographic vulnerabilities, socio-economic influences, and programmatic gaps. The findings highlight persistent anemia prevalence among women and children, underscore regional disparities, and call for integrated public health strategies. This desk-based research aims to contribute to evidence-informed policy formulation for anemia control in Delhi NCR.
