Abstract

Background: A decrease in hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (HCT), or red blood cell count is known as anemia.

It falls into one of three categories: macrocytic, microcytic, or normocytic. It is a manifestation of an underlying disorder. weakness and fatigue are common ambiguous symptoms that anemic patients exhibit shortness of breath, syncope and a decreased tolerance symptoms to activity are all possible symptoms of severe anemia. This exercise describe the diagnosis, course of treatment and involvement of the inter-professional team in the care of anemic patients. Anaemia is associated with poor cognitive and motor development in children, and work capacity in adults, influencing country economic development.

Method: A total 865 clinical samples were collected from patients. Hemoglobin of the patients measured by   Cyanmethaemoglobin method. the packed cells by dividing the height of the column of the packed erythrocytes by the total height of the cell column and plasma and then multiply by 100.Erythrocyte indices was done by using blood sample determine (a) Hemoglobin (b) Packed cell Volume (c) Total erythrocyte count. Determination of mean corpuscular volume (MCV)mean corpuscular hemoglobin(MCH)Mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration(MCHC)Microcytosis, macrocytosis, anisocytosis, and poikilocytosis done by peripheral film.

Result: All cases had hemoglobin less than 10.9 gm/dl.In our study (n=20) 20% cases were Microcytic anemia, (n=4)4% cases were Macrocytic anemia (n=14)14% were Dimorphic (n=62)62% were Normocytic anemia.

Conclusion:  This study conclude that  incidence of Anemia among female was significantly higher compared to that of male. Maximum number of anemia cases were noted in 20-30years of age range.
